Paloma Pottery Salmon Platter $98

Paloma Pottery Salmon Platter

Paloma Pottery offers a variety of traditional ceramic plates and platters that are oven, microwave and dishwasher safe. Please note that Paloma Pottery dinnerware with recycled glass rims are not made to use in the oven. They are more delicate and can not withstand the same stress as the traditional wares.

When cooking with ceramics, you must always start with a COLD oven.  Ceramics can not endure the stress of immediate heat and must be warmed up with the oven.  This also means that no direct flames may be used when cooking with ceramics. Start with a cold oven and then use as you would any other vessel for cooking.

Paloma Pottery’s Salmon Platter shown above is a perfect piece to use for cooking. Need something larger? Custom dinnerware available upon request.

What is National Wildlife Week?
Taken from the National Wildlife Federation Website:

Since 1938, National Wildlife Week has been essential to wildlife conservation, bringing awareness about the issue to people of all ages. Observing National Wildlife Week is a time to honor wildlife, bring communities together through service, ignite the minds of children and adults, and instill an absolute love of nature.

Why Celebrate National Wildlife Week?

An easy way to participate in this week-long event is by making time for outdoor play and interaction with the natural world. Research shows that a daily Green Hour® improves one’s physical, mental and emotional well-being. This is especially important for children who typically spend hours in front of electronic media. Additionally, families and communities connected to nature raise healthier kids and inspire a life-long appreciation of wildlife and the environment.

How Do I Get Started?

The National Wildlife Week website offers resources for kids, teens, parents, and educators to make spending time outdoors easier than ever. Download free activities and games, Wildlife Watch lists of local plants and animals, environmental service project ideas, and fact sheets about the benefits of playing outside.

National Wildlife Federation welcomes you to join us during this annual celebration.

Valentine Hearts and Handmade Affordable Recycled Gifts

Thursday, January 29th, 2009
Gifts from the heart are a wonderful way to celebrate a day of love and friendship. Handmade gifts are always appreciated, especially when made using recycled materials. Looking for an affordable gift for your valentine? Paloma Pottery offers recycled glass fused ceramic hearts and over 40 unique recycled glass gifts at affordable prices.

Handmade with love using recycled glass and pottery, Paloma Pottery offers a variety of items from heart key chains and bookmarks to heart wall hooks and kitchen wares, find several unique recycled glass fused ceramic gifts for both him and her at Paloma Pottery.

Artisan style handmade pottery is adorned with fused recycled glass to create a classy recycled product and functional art in colors and items that fit a variety of tastes and décor.

Each item is hand-made by owner and artist Nicole Whitney. Whitney’s glass fused ceramic process begins with commonly used, traditional ceramic techniques. The addition of kiln melted, broken bits of recycled glass make the process unique. It sounds simple yet the result is brilliantly different.

The unique shapes and positioning of each fragment insures each piece to have a sparkle and depth that is truly unique. Distinctive and elegant, the crackle glass surface created is an eye catching and intriguing texture that reflects light with its depth of colors.

Employing economically responsible ideals to reduce, re-use, and recycle as a mission, Paloma Pottery emerged in Jan. 2000. “I was inspired to recycle glass within my pottery and when I saw the results I knew I had found my niche,” says Whitney. “I believe that social responsibility in business is simply good practice and good business,” continues Whitney. “I am committed to customer service, following through with my word, and dedicated to encouraging and following sustainable business.”
